It's been a relatively quiet but much needed rest week for me. I've been mostly tackling the treadmill in a consistent fat-burning pace and making sure I get a good sweating out of it. For the record, I always set the treadmill to max 15.0 incline and the speed at anywhere from 2.5 to 4.0, give or take. More importantly, I am starting to realize how much more changes I need to make in order to keep up with the 200+ kilometres I racked up from last month. Can't say that it was full-blown shin splints but definitely aggravated it from the 20 runs.
I keep telling myself that once again it all goes back to proper running form. It's especially hard to follow through with the act during the days where you lack the motivation to run after a long tiring day from work lol. You'll see what I mean with the two Instagram videos below... I'm definitely not there yet but working on it!
I did end up doing a nice comfortable 20 km long run near the end of the week. It was nice to get moving minus the frigid temperatures and high wind. Note to all, if you don't have a balaclava as part of your running stockpile - do it! You'll thank yourself for not getting frostbitten and complaints of "I can't feel my face" moments.
